This MOU is entered into this 8th of July, 2019 between Duke University, acting through its Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Pratt School of Engineering, in Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A. (“Duke”) and The Institute of Engineering of Tribhuvan University, in Kathmandu, Nepal (“IoE”). Duke and IoE are wish to establish a cooperative relationship for the purpose of advancing earthquake hazard mitigation in Nepal and for the purpose of investigating the development of Earthquake Early Warning Systems, through mutual assistance in the areas of education and research.
